Nonlinear Extrapolation of Inflow and Infiltration Behavior under Heavy Storms
نویسنده
چکیده
A two-sample nonlinear heteroscedastic regression model is described and proposed for the purpose of evaluating a sewer basin rehabilitation by quantifying the reduction in rain-derived inflow and infiltration RDII . The proposed methodology is used at the second stage of RDII studies after RDII volumes of individual rain events are estimated. The proposed methodology utilizes boundary conditions of system capacity and extrapolates the RDII behavior under usually unobserved heavy design storms in short-term flow data series—a common problem in RDII studies. As compared to the commonly used linear models, the proposed methodology offers flexibility in modeling, reasonable extrapolation, and simplicity in interpretation. Comparison of One-point and Two-point Methods for Estimation of Infiltration Parameters in Furrow Irrigation
Infiltration is one of the most important hydraulic parameters affecting surface irrigation and one ofthe most difficult parameters in practical field determinations. The infiltration equations are used todescribe water flow hydraulics and surface irrigation systems design. But determination of theparameters in these equations are costly and time consuming. Therefore, some estimating methods ar...

In this research, the hydraulic behavior of furrow irrigation was investigated under cut-back, Walker-Skogerboe and conventional methods at the three experimental farms of Lavark, Shervedan, and Isfahan University of Technology for three irrigation events. In each farm, data were collected for each of the above methods with at least three replications including furrow shape, furrow length, furr...

متن کاملPost-buckling response of thin composite plates under end-shortening strain using Chebyshev techniques
In this paper, a method based on Chebyshev polynomials is developed for examination of geometrically nonlinear behaviour of thin rectangular composite laminated plates under end-shortening strain. Different boundary conditions and lay-up configurations are investigated and classical laminated plate theory is used for developing the equilibrium equations. The equilibrium equations are solved dir...
متن کاملEFFECT OF NICKEL AND COBALT ADDITIONS ON INFILTRATION BEHAVIOR, MICROSTRUCTURE AND HARDNESS OF W-AG COMPOSITES
In this research, infiltration behavior of W-Ag composite compacts with Nickel and Cobalt as additives has been investigated. Nickel and Cobalt were added to Tungsten powder by two distinct methods: mixing elementally and reduction of salt solution. The coated Tungsten powders were compacted under controlled pressures to make porous skeleton with 32-37 vol. % porosity. Infiltration process was ...
